This page explains how Al Siraaj Primary & Secondary School's Student/Parent Portal, Staff Portal, and Admin Panel (together, "the Services") use browser storage. We keep this simple: the Services do not use tracking or advertising cookies. What is used is limited to the local storage mechanisms below, which stay on your own device.

1. What We Use, and Why

• Theme preference (siraaj-theme) — remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode, saved in your browser's local storage so it applies next time you visit.
• Display preferences (background/firefly animation on or off) — remembers small visual preferences the same way.
• Temporary sign-in details — when signing in as staff or a teacher, your ID/PIN may be held briefly in your browser's session storage so the next step of sign-in can read it. Session storage clears automatically when you close the tab — it is never written to disk or sent anywhere beyond what sign-in itself requires.

2. What We Don't Use

• No third-party advertising or tracking cookies;
• No cross-site tracking of any kind;
• No analytics cookies that follow you outside these Services.

3. Managing Storage

Because we only use local/session storage (not traditional server-set cookies), you can clear this at any time through your browser's settings — clearing site data for this website will reset your theme/display preferences and any pending sign-in details. Note that clearing storage does not log you out of an active Supabase session, which is managed separately for security.

4. Changes to This Policy

If the Services begin using additional storage or cookies in the future, this page will be updated to reflect that.
